Event Guidelines

Who is eligible to enter?

Any photographer, amateur or professional, that is over the age of 21 from the commencement date of the contest.

What type of images is the UnScene looking for?

We are looking for original, authentic and "unseen" images of - people, places or thing - you tell the story. There is no time limit as to when the photographs were actually taken. Please refrain from submitting photos that are too personal such as a dog or a friend as this is a fine art competition. Please refrain from submitting images that have been digitally altered with photo tools. For example, adding an object/element that was not in the original image.

How do I enter?

If you have already not done so, please register with the UnScene and receive a user account with password. After registering, you can enter/upload up to 20 photos per entry. Please check each contest's submission fee guidelines, some are free.

What kind of files do I submit?

Please submit original, digital work of art in the form of a .gif, .jpg, bmp, .tiff file that does not exceed 3 megabytes in size (Max. 1,280 x 1,024 pixels). Any entries or submissions which depict or glorify lewd, obscene, vulgar or profane behavior, or which utilize lewd, obscene vulgar or profane language, either as part of the submission or as the name of the submission, will be disqualified at the sole discretion of UnScene Tour.

How does the work get showcased at an UnScene event?

The UnScene team will help all finalists get ready for their shows. The final selection of images are at the sole discretion of the UnScene Tour and its affiliates but the UnScene works intimately with the artists to ensure the artist's collection is cohesive and tells an untold story. If chosen, you will receive your own gallery wall with your name, photo and brief bio hung near your work so you can have your own "wall" to meet and greet guests by.

Who chooses the finalists?

The UnScene Tour and its affiliates, depending on the partner for their contest.

Who prints the artwork?

The finalist will be responsible for printing and mounting his or her work to the specifications designated by the UnScene Tour.

If I am a finalist, will my work be for sale?

The finalist's work is always on sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting a local art charity. The UnScene Tour and its affiliates will set the final price and means in which the prints are sold (via auction or just straight sale). Finalist will receive a check via mail from the UnScene Tour (Wall Kandy is the parent company) within 30 days post event.

Do I own the copyright to my photos?

Absolutely, you own the rights to your photos. While we might use your photos to promote the UnScene Tour and UnScene Orange County, your photo will never be used without giving you proper photography credit.
