I believe that all of us are artists in some fashion, searching for a medium with which to express ourselves. I have found over the years that photography suits me most accurately.
I have been “taking pictures” all my life, but it wasn’t until I was employed as a press photographer that I began to pay more attention to what I was photographing- and why. I started with film and slides, photographing landscapes in many exotic places, but for me these images lacked a
human element for the observer to relate to.
I aspire to mirror the careers of great fashion and art photographers such as: Guy Bourdin, Duc Liao, Howard Schatz, Helmut Newton and of course- Richard Avedon.
I hope the images featured in this competition will give viewers a glimpse into my love and respect for beauty, motion, and color- as well as the unlikely places these things can be found.
