About the UnScene
The UnScene is a company dedicated to exposing emerging artists worldwide
through mobile and online competitions. Working with galleries and
non-traditional public venues, the UnScene aims to find artists and help them
get ready for the spotlight.

Produced by Wall Kandy, the UnScene was created by photographer Julie
Chytrowsky on the foundation that original photography should be accessible to
everyone who appreciates it - creating a hybrid between gallery art and home
decor. Hey, you never know who's going to be famous one day.

Most artists discovered by the UnScene have never had a show before
and take pictures hoping one day to be "seen."

About the Mobile Tour
In conjunction with the W Hotel, the UnScene travels city to city to expose
emerging artists via one night gallery events. At each event, one photographer
is awarded with a high profile exposure prize - a chance to be seen at a
leading local gallery.

Summer 2007
The Summer 2007 tour went to New Orleans, Dallas, San Diego, New York and
Atlanta and collaborated with the W Hotel in each city to put on memorable
events and exhibits.

In each city, the UnScene celebrated 10 emerging artists and awarded one
photographer at each UnScene Event with their own gallery exhibit at galleries
and museums like the Louisiana State Museum, Mason Murer Gallery, Peer
Gallery in New York and the infamous Afterimage Gallery in Dallas- one of the
oldest and most prestigious photography galleries in the country.

About 2008 Tour
The tour is going to 9 cities and growing. This year, we have redefined the
platform and are showcasing less artists but more work per artist. Please check
here to see if we are coming to a city near you.
